Press Release: 1st October 2020
Since the company’s inception in the mid 1980’s, CME Limited has now established an enviable reputation as an innovation and customer focused business with an agile, problem solving approach.
The company’s success was founded upon its long heritage within the Tobacco sector, with installations across 132 countries. A recent global slowdown in the requirement for Tobacco machinery was the catalyst behind a re-focusing and re-structuring exercise, led by Managing Director Paul Knight, which set the foundations for significant growth through diversification in alternative markets and new product development. This strategy has ultimately been recognised in the company’s award for Exceptional Sales Performance, received at this year’s PPMA Awards Ceremony.
CME Managing Director Paul Knight explains: “We are delighted to receive this recognition from PPMA for our exceptional sales performance. The result of our re-focusing strategy has seen the company’s annual sales order intake reach double that achieved in 2016, whilst diversifying from 90% reliance on the Tobacco market to just 50% today. The business now offers both bespoke, and a growing range of standard products for the Pharmaceutical, Legal Cannabis, Food and Consumer Goods sectors around the world.”
Since receiving their accolade from PPMA, it has been announced that CME Ltd has also been shortlisted for both the Manufacturing Innovation Award, and the Manufacturer of the Year (Under 25M) categories in the Made in the Southwest Awards 2019. This further recognises both the technical expertise and outstanding performance of the company. The winners for these and the other award categories will be announced at the annual ceremony on the 7th November 2019.
